Our Adoption Journey

Our Adoption Journey

If you are new to Be Still Tea, my youngest daughter Josie is adopted, an important reason why I do what I do here. Our adoption journey changed my life and my perspective in a profound way, and I want to change the narrative of who birthmothers are.
I'm here to share a few things that I have learned along the way in our adoption journey:
❤️ Adoption is hard but so worth it
❤️ Adoption is beautiful, but it also comes with grief
❤️ Adoption never goes how you think it will, so go with the flow
❤️ Birth Mothers are amazing humans, and I am in awe of their sacrificial love.
We have an open adoption, and it has been fantastic for us to share with Josie where she comes from and how loved she is both by her birth family and by us, her adopted family. I tied adoption and birthmother support to my business because I wanted to raise awareness and change the conversation about birthmothers and adoption.
Because of our passion and dedication to adoption, we have partnered with our friends at Lifesong for Orphans to create the Rohan Birthmother Adoption Fund, in honor of the name Josie’s birthmother gave her when she was born. Through the Fund, we can support adoptive families with their adoption costs and allow us to invest in birthmothers by covering a portion of the expenses for birthmother care.
With every tea you purchase, 10% of all proceeds are donated to the Rohan Birthmother Adoption Fund, with over $10,000 being donated to date. Your generosity allows Be Still Tea to keep the conversation going about adoption and birthmothers and their importance to so many families. If you would like to make a direct donation to the fund, visit https://give.lifesong.org/lifesong/p627-pf
Thank you for partnering with me and buying my tea. Our family is a testament that you don’t have to look like each other or have the same skin color to be family. All you need is LOVE. ❤️
